Easy Learn Guitar
The easy way to learn to play guitar
Acoustic Guitar Lessons
So you want to know about acoustic guitar lessons! OK, if you have your acoustic guitar to hand and a comfortable chair, you're ready to go.
Become Familiar With Your Acoustic Guitar
The topmost portion of your guitar is called the head or the headstock. This is where you well find the tuning keys (sometimes called machine heads), which are used to alter the pitch of the each string. Next, after the head and attached to it comes the neck. You will see that the neck is divided by "frets".
At the other end of the neck is the body of the guitar. On classical or acoustic guitar you will find a sound hole in the middle front of the body and while the body amplifies the sound this hole enables the sound to be projected. And of course completing all of this are the six strings.
Get yourself a guitar "tutor".
Maybe you could learn how to play the guitar best with a flesh and blood live teacher in the room with you. On the other hand, your best teacher might be you! Many good guitarists taught themselves to play using only a book of chords or a few lessons from a friend. The computer has made it even simpler though, because now you can access a teacher any time of day, and have those skills taught visually and audibly with video technology. Those of us who get worried and frustrated trying to play before a person really appreciate a virtual tutor.
Are You Sitting Comfortably?
Sit upright in an armless chair holding your guitar with the neck parallel to the ground and the body of the guitar resting comfortably on your thighs. The topmost string should be the thickest of the six.
Time For A Tune Up!
There are several ways you can go about tuning your guitar. You can find step by step instructions online. You could buy tuning pipes or download software based tuning, an electronic tuner or use a piano or tuning fork.
If your playing using a pick (sometimes called a plectrum) try not to strike the strings to hard or to softly. You need to hear what you're playing so that you can learn to play chords and scales properly.
Chord And Scales
An easy and inexpensive way of learning chords and scales is to by a chord and scales book and start practicing.
Try to learn the most common chords first as in C major, D major and G major. Practice one chord at a time untill you have it down perfect and then move on to the next one. Play songs that you know or can learn that fit around these chords. When you have mastered them move on to more advanced chords and scales.
Remember, practice, practice, practice but most of all have fun.
