You should practice every day for a half an hour at least if you can, but don't overdo it. Rest between practice is as important as the practice itself.

Make sure you are sitting and holding your guitar comfortably. Bad posture will quickly cause fatigue and your practice and performance will suffer accordingly.

Learn and practice as many chords and scales as you can and variations of chords and scales, this will not only improve your playing it will strengthen your hands and fingers as well and is an important part of beginners acoustic guitar lessons.
